Flavors of Northern ItalyGuest Feedback
What Guests Are Saying...
All of the culinary and wine experiences along with the historical sites were highlights. It is hard to narrow it down. The passion of the people running the places we visited was intoxicating. We have gone on many tours and the Orbridge tour far exceeds all of the other land tours we have been on. |
We have such great memories, not only of the places, foods and wines, but of all the wonderful vintners, artisans, guides and hotel staff we met every single day. |
The small size of the group was excellent. We enjoyed meeting other congenial travelers. The tour had a nice variety of activities and was well organized and the tour director was outstanding. The food and wine were always excellent. |
The highlight of the trip was the opportunity to get off the beaten track somewhat, focus on a small but richly interesting region, and visit often family-run enterprises and artisan producers of local wines, cheeses and traditional balsamic vinegar. |
On the whole, the experience was very enjoyable. We were very happy to experience many things we could not have found on our own. We enjoyed the cooking lessons, the wine tastings, olive oil and balsamic vinegar tastings, seeing how things like risotto and cheese were made and the boat tours were fun. |
Our Travel Director was at all times extremely professional, yet very personable! She guided us through a very quick-paced week and coordinated all the transportation and connections perfectly. It impressed me that she always reached out to all group members and engaged in pleasant, interested conversation. I really appreciated her historical and cultural comments regarding the area while we were on tour! Bravo!
It was also impressive that the other staff members at Borgo San Donino were so attentive and personable. You could tell that they love where they live, the work they do and the wine/oil they produce. I'll never forget these impressions and I will certainly return to the region. Lastly, Borgo San Donino is a wonderful place to stay! Beautiful, comfortable.
The accommodations were a nice mix of a rustic setting with all the modern amenities one needs.
We really enjoyed the personal attention we got at the smaller vineyards and food producers—much better than visiting large commercial producers.
Our travel director was wonderful. Her knowledge of the area and her personal relationship with the people at many of the sites we visited made us feel like welcome guests at most of the places we visited.
Everything about this trip was wonderful. Everything was perfect. There was wonderful food and wine everywhere we went. Everyone was so nice, and we loved everything that we did.
I loved how this trip gave me a more personal view of Italy through conversations with locals and family-run food vendors. I've studied abroad in Italy and have been on vacation there with family, but this was a unique experience. I loved our guide and the off-the-beaten path tour. It felt like I had a friend showing me around.
We enjoyed the small group experience, which allowed us to get to know the others.
The restaurant at the property was excellent. Amazing variety of foods prepared for our group over the course of the week--never knew what to expect but were never disappointed.
And we very much enjoyed our travel director's insights and sense of humor, and her patience.
The variety and content of each excursion were excellent and made the trip so enjoyable. Our guide was absolutely excellent—extremely knowledgeable, timely, friendly, easy to relate to and made the sites/experiences so real and understandable. For me, she made the trip perfect.
The tortellini were like my grandmother used to make, and my aunt continues to make. The wrapping reminded me of Saturdays at my grandparents' home where we made them for Sunday after church.
This was a wonderful itinerary and great trip. Our guide was knowledgeable and well-informed about the history and culture of each place making each destination even more interesting. We loved going to each of the small towns, meeting families who were involved in producing wine, food, balsamic vinegar or olive oil, and best of all, being invited to share lunch or dinner with them. We’ll always have great memories of Flavors of Northern Italy.
Selva Capuzza is immaculate and beautiful. Perfect setting from which to connect with the customs, food, wine, agriculture, people and culture of Northern Italy. Simply marvelous.
