Itinerary

Day +1: En Route from U.S.

Day +2: Arrive in Milan, Italy | Varenna
Upon arrival to Milan Malpensa Airport an Orbridge representative will be waiting to assist with your transfer to the hotel.

Later join a local guide for a walking tour featuring Varenna's highlights followed by a lovely dinner.
Overnight: Hotel Royal Victoria (D)

Day +3: Varenna | Villa Carlotta | Varenna
After breakfast board a public ferry to Villa Carlotta, a jewel of Lake Como featuring meticulously maintained gardens, an extensive art collection, and stunning views of the lake and surrounding mountains. Constructed in 1690 by the Milanese marquis Giorgio Clerici in Baroque architectural style of the period, the villa originally served as a luxurious residence. Inside Villa Carlotta find notable art pieces including the famous sculpture "Palamedes" by Antonio Canova as well as paintings by Francesco Hayez.

Continue to the villa's botanical gardens followed by a wine tasting and lunch.

Return to Varenna by public ferry and enjoy the remainder of the afternoon and evening at leisure.

Day +4: Varenna | Lake Como | Main Program Begins
Following breakfast at the hotel, meet a local guide for a relaxing walking tour of Lake Como.

Afterward transfer to Monteu Roeru to join guests arriving for the main program. (B)

Daily pace and timing may vary significantly between longer and shorter travel days, with additional activities possibly occurring in the early morning or evening. Guests are expected to board transportation without assistance. Elevators are not always available at accommodations or sites visited.
