Long Itinerary

Day 1: En route from U.S.

Day 2: Arrive Buenos Aires / Tango Show
Welcome to Buenos Aires! Meet your Orbridge Expedition Leader at the airport and take your complimentary transfer to the hotel. This evening, enjoy a very special welcome event: a world-class Tango show with dinner and private wine tasting at El Querandí Tango House. Under the tutelage of skilled performers, you can even try a few steps of Tango yourself! (D)

Day 3: Buenos Aires / City Tour
Like many great cities, the unique character of its neighborhoods defines Buenos Aires. After breakfast, enjoy a private city tour to see the sights in some of its famous quarters: La Boca, San Telmo, and Puerto Madero. Along the way, see the Metropolitan Cathedral, Government House or “Casa Rosada,” the Plaza de Mayo area, and finish with a visit to the famous Colon Theatre, considered one of the best opera houses in the world. (B)

Day 4: El Tigre Delta
Today after breakfast you will visit the coastal area of Buenos Aires, starting by the Del Libertador Av. Costanera, Jorge Newbery Airport, and River Plate stadium. Passing by the Presidential House of Olivos, you will have the chance to wander San Isidro, a charming place to refresh and enjoy local sights. Continuing to El Tigre, you will board a boat to sail along the scenic, serene banks of the Paraná River. Afterward, return to Buenos Aires with an evening at leisure. Dozens of clubs and milongas beckon with signature Latin rhythms. (B)

Day 5: Estancia Santa Susana
Today you will head out to the countryside to visit an Argentinean Estancia (estate) called Santa Susana. Here, a horseback riding exhibition, the sounds of folk music, a welcome banquet with empanadas and a selection of fabulous Argentinean wine will make for a lovely day of soaking in the culture of the traditional Argentinean Gaucho. Return to the hotel in the afternoon to unwind or stroll surrounding neighborhoods. (B,L)

Day 6: Buenos Aires / Eva Perón
This morning enjoy a city tour of the Palermo Area—Green Areas, Hollywood, and Soho—and Recoleta. Stop at the Eva Perón Museum to learn about her remarkable life and role in Argentinean history. Afterward, break for lunch and plan a lively evening of your own choosing. Perhaps you'll head to Palermo Viejo for a grilled steak and glass of Malbec, the country's signature wine varietal, or stroll to San Telmo to sip café cortado and sample sweets filled with dulce de leche while catching an impromptu Tango demonstration. (B)

Day 7: Buenos Aires at Leisure
Today take time to visit your favorite neighborhoods. Fashionable Palermo Soho promises stylish restaurants, bars, and fashionable street culture. Or, wander lovely Recoleta, bedecked in statuary, Belle Epoque mansions with intricate masonry, delicate wrought-iron fences, and home of the famous Cemeterio de la Recoleta—a maze of ornate mausoleums where Eva Perón is buried. Watch busy, stylish Portenos at work and play, linger at art and design galleries, and browse boutiques, markets, and antique shops. This evening, we will gather for a special farewell dinner at La Cabrera restaurant. (B,D)

Day 8: Depart Buenos Aires
After breakfast, transfer to the airport from your hotel for your return flight home. (B)
